Casting shadows in the light,
Born unto a restless night;
Waiting now for me alone...
With open arms to bring her home.
The youngest, seems, are first to die,
And they go rising to the sky.
Bearing no child, but a secret storm,
As she turns away her face to mourn.
A loveless song plays just for you;
It has many words but not a tune.
I walk alone to a shaded place,
And let the tears fall down my face.
Wasted wishes, dreams and goals,
For whomever the Death Bell tolls.
Darkness enfolded, I closed my eyes,
And then reached for the hidden prize.
But there was nothing for me to touch;
And I regretted it all so much.
Just you smile, just you wait,
I only need to pass the gate.
Save yourself distempered lorn,
And know I will one day be born.
Keep holding on to faith and mirth;
Your strength will bring me back to Earth.
Instead of saying your goodbyes,
Come watch me falling from the sky.

I don't like it; but it seems there's always a person out there kind enough to tell me to keep trying. Anyway, this is "for" my cousin and his girlfriend/wife, who lost what should have been their firstborn. I don't normally dedicate poems to anyone, especially when it's a personal matter; but I was in the mood.....This distracted me from it.

This poem made me go wow.

A line that really touched was, "A loveless song plays just for you; It has many words but not a tune." Perhaps because I am a musician.

I hope the more I read, the better the context I understand.
